Introduction.
We are a progressive accounting firm that prides itself on delivering high-quality financial and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients. Our primary focus is on small to mid-sized businesses, where we offer strategic insights and robust accounting solutions. We are looking for a Staff Accountant with expertise in C & S Corporations and Partnership Accounting who can handle complex financial challenges and guide clients toward sound financial decisions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business owners and our internal teams to drive efficiency, accuracy, and innovation in all accounting processes.
Responsibilities.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
- Manage accounting functions for small to mid-sized businesses, including C Corporations and Partnerships.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies.
- Conduct in-depth tax preparation and planning for business entities, optimizing tax strategies in line with current legislation.
- The Staff Accountant will provide advisory services, offering insights on budgeting, cash flow management, and financial forecasting.
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution of findings.
- Keep up to date with evolving accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., bookkeeping, client services, tax team) to ensure a seamless client experience.
Qualifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA certification strongly preferred).
- 4+ years of professional accounting experience, with a focus on small businesses, C Corporations, and Partnerships.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proven track record of preparing, reviewing, and analyzing complex financial statements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights effectively.
Skills.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of C Corporation and Partnership tax regulations, financial statement preparation, and multi-entity accounting.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify errors and discrepancies, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Problem-Solving: Capability to address financial and operational challenges with creative, compliant solutions.
- Communication: Clear and concise writing and speaking skills to relay complex financial concepts to clients and team members.
- Project Management: Adept at organizing and prioritizing multiple client engagements and meeting strict deadlines.
- Technological Proficiency: Aptitude for learning new accounting and tax software, as well as streamlining processes with technology.
